From August 30 to September 1, 2024, the “MIKSKO: KOMIKS PAMBATA, GAWA NG BATA” Comics Workshop was held by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) and the Consuelo Zobel Alger Foundation at the Citadines Roces in Quezon City. This event served as a prelude to this year’s National Children’s Month theme, “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines,” and brought together child representatives from various organizations. Three members of the Child Rights Group (CRG) from Kaisahang Buhay Foundation, Inc., namely Wendy-lyn, Bryan, and Cammy, participated in this three-day workshop, accompanied by their guardians and social worker, Ms. Roxanne Mae Relucio.
In addition to showcasing their drawing and storytelling skills, the Child Rights Group Members jubilantly expressed their enjoyment of the workshop, highlighting how much they appreciated meeting other children with a shared passion for child participation and representation. They valued the opportunity to engage in activities that support their dreams, bolster their confidence, and allow them to express their voices and creativity freely.
