An enriching 3-day Child Nutrition Program Training of Trainers took place at Hive Hotel Quezon City from July 26 to 28, 2023.
The Child Nutrition Program (CNP) is a program by Holt International being implemented in the Philippines in partnership with Kaisahang Buhay Foundation (KBF). The CNP is designed to improve nutrition and feeding practices among caregivers, ultimately leading to better health and development outcomes for vulnerable children, including infants and those with disabilities.
The Association of Child Caring Agencies of the Philippines (ACCAP) recommended child caring agencies to participate in this transformative CNP training, each with a shared commitment to nurturing the well-being of the children they care for. A total of 16 child caring agencies were represented in the training.
During the training, we were honored to have guests, Ms. Teresita Pangilinan, Ms. Jovelle Mallari, and Ms. Ellen Rabas, esteemed CNP trained staff from RSCC Lubao and Hospicio de San Jose. Their invaluable experience of five years in implementing the Child Nutrition Program at their respective sites allowed them to provide perceptive knowledge and practical insights into the nutrition screening system.
The participants’ enthusiasm and gratitude were evident throughout the training, which warmed our hearts and reinforced the importance of such initiatives in making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. Together, we look forward to applying the knowledge gained during this training to enhance the well-being of the children under our care and make a difference in their lives.
